Magic white
If you want to experience magical Christmas, spend it in Vipiteno. The city is bathed in white and a sea of lights. The houses, covered with snow and fairy lights, create a unique Christmas atmosphere.
Colorful sales and supply stands on the town square invite you to linger at the Christmas market.
Vipiteno and the surrounding area offer a variety of winter sports activities for all sports enthusiasts.
Rosskopf
From the city center it is only a few steps to the valley station of the Roßkopf ski area. Skiers, tobogganists and winter hikers will find a snow-sure winter landscape and an impressive panoramic view on the 2000 meter high Roßkopf. The family-friendly ski area offers perfectly groomed slopes for both beginners and experienced skiers. The longest, snow-covered and illuminated toboggan run in Italy with a length of 9.6 km awaits tobogganists. Rustic huts invite you to stop off. On site you can enjoy traditional dishes and a unique view on the sun terrace.
Skiing
The Ratschings-Jaufen ski area extends from 1,300 m to 2,150 m. It is one of the most modern in South Tyrol. 25 km of easy to moderately difficult pistes are available for you to have fun in the snow. Tobogganers will also get their money's worth, a 5 km long track takes you from the mountain station down into the valley. The Ladurns ski area in the Pflersch Valley with its 16 pistes of varying difficulty promises pure adventure for the whole family. Easy to difficult slopes with guaranteed snow, a fun park for snowboarders and a 6.5 km long toboggan run to the valley station inspire young and old.
Winter Tours
Vipiteno and its side valleys are real hotspots of the Skialper. Due to the excellent location on the main ridge of the Alps, snow is guaranteed here. The northern slopes also offer ideal ski touring terrain.
Cross country skiing
In the side valleys you will find perfectly groomed trails in a unique mountain landscape. We recommend the cross-country ski trail from Ridnaun, or those in Pfitsch or in Pflersch/Ladurns.
Ohter activities
In Vipiteno and the surrounding area you will find numerous hiking trails and mountain huts. A leisurely winter hike in a fantastic snowy landscape ensures peace and serenity. In the rustic alpine huts, your physical well-being is well taken care of. A special highlight is the ice skating on the town square of Vipiteno, directly under the Twelve Tower, which is offered from the end of January to the beginning of March. You can find more ice skating opportunities in the ice rink in Vipiteno and in the surrounding villages.
